TOOLS TO TALK SESSION
Put your tools down and bring your team along to this Tools to Talk session featuring Richie Hardcore. The construction industry in New Zealand currently top all other sectors in mental health statistics and suicides. Richie’s topics shine a light on the many contributing factors which pose a risk to the wellbeing of our people working in construction.
A former New Zealand Muay Thai champion, and now working as a keynote presenter and educator, Richie has spoken throughout Australasia on topics such as masculinity, violence prevention, mental health, fitness, and drug and alcohol abuse, that many find difficult to discuss. He does so with ease, grace, and humour, not to reduce the severity of the topics, but to make the interrelated themes easier to digest and relatable to all. Richie works for White Ribbon New Zealand; Ministry of Social Development; with maximum security prisoners, has spoken in New Zealand Parliament; presented to countless businesses and not-for-profit organisations; frequently speaks at schools and is regularly called upon to give mainstream media commentary.
This Tools to Talk session is relevant for all people working in the building, civil , infrastructure, and engineering spaces, including those who regularly interact with the construction workforce – tradespeople, builders, labourers, merchant suppliers, industry leaders and business owners, H&S advisors, professional service providers, community and healthcare connectors and services, our local and regional councils, clients – Those along the supply chain all play a part.
